Planet Picture: Meta River

The Meta River forms part of the border between Colombia and Venezuela. In this picture, however, it can easily be confused with an artery in the human body. The capillaries, in this case, would be formed by dense tree cover on the banks of the various streams flowing from the main river. The orange sections of ground between streams are considered to be rich tropical grassland.
